BigHand releases latest version of its award-winning legal Resource Management solution

BigHand has announced the latest developments to its Resource Management tool for law firms.

The latest advances to the Resource Management technology have today been announced, following news last week that it had been named a Silver Stevie Winner for the 2021 American Business Awards in the Human Capital Management Solution category.

BigHand Resource Management is a legal work allocation tool that allows law firms to identify resources, forecast utilization, manage workloads and add structure to career development for lawyers. The solution delivers real-time visibility of lawyer availability, improved profitability on matters and supports law firm diversity, equity and inclusion goals for equitable allocation of work.

In line with market demand and client feedback, BigHand has made significant enhancements to the UI/UX, providing a more intuitive structure to drive efficiency and engagement with all end users, as well as building additional data feeds into the API for greater automation and customizable fields.

The new features include a dedicated partner dashboard, and enhancements to workbook sharing and management across the entire system, which provide greater visibility of legal work allocation across the firm, to drive fair and equitable distribution of work.

Other new functionality involves a process to request resources in a fast and efficient way, and post them centrally to an opportunities board for visibility of open work types including client chargeable matters, pro-bono work, business development and non-chargeable work. This will drive lawyer engagement as they can pro-actively register their interest in work, which is then flagged to the requestor or resource manager, in addition to providing more transparency of opportunities that are available.

Dave Cook, Global Director for Resource Management at BigHand comments, “We’re delighted to release our most advanced version of the legal Resource Management tool, and the first since BigHand’s acquisition of Mason & Cook in November 2020. The new features and functionality have been developed directly from client feedback, and we’re pleased to have created a streamlined user experience and additional functionality to help meet our clients goals. It’s clear from the current surge of demand for our services and technology that law firms are actively addressing their work allocation and resourcing needs and will benefit from the increased visibility and access to accurate data to drive informed resourcing decisions.”
