The ranking criteria, which is one of the most thorough available, comprises of both an in-depth Employee Trust Survey and an audit of organisational management and HR practices. The award recognises the strength of leadership and the range of innovative at a business, plus creative and effective HR policies that engender a successful workplace culture. This is the first time BigHand has achieved this honour which distinguishes the company as having a highly engaged workplace culture.

BigHand were named “Supplier of the Year” at the 2016 British Legal Awards. These awards celebrate achievement, excellence and innovation in the legal profession, and are judged by a panel of independent experts from the profession.
The group of experts looked for evidence across the following areas; expertise and professionalism, innovation, value for money, customer care and satisfaction, and measurable success.
BigHand was recognised for its long standing dedication to the legal industry. The judges described BigHand as being "obviously ahead of the game" demonstrating sheer scale of ambition and working with their clients to develop and improve software that helps with their business challenges such as BigHand Now, one of their latest product releases for task delegation.
Leading technology business BigHand won the UK Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award at the 2017 UK IT Industry Awards. The Awards are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.
For the UK Innovation and Entrepreneurship category, the judges looked for a new product or service that has delivered measurable benefit for customers and can demonstrate the potential to be an important product for customers worldwide. BigHand was recognised for its task delegation tool, BigHand Now, and the notable results it has delivered for its customers in the legal industry.
