My home: Rural East Sussex
My work: Owner/Partner at Kay & Pascoe LLP, specialising in Family Law
My daily routine: We set up our own niche family law practice about 5 years ago in the small town where I live. Being able to walk to work is fantastic even when it is cold and wet!
Favourite past-time: Gardening, preferably mechanised. You'll often find me cutting up logs with a chainsaw and vacuuming up leaves in the garden. Some of my more leisurely pursuits include the theatre, restaurants and dinghy sailing when its warm.
How BigHand makes my life easier: We have four fee-earners working out of two offices but with only two support staff, we rely heavily on BigHand. The BigHand mobile app enables us to dictate from the office, home or even when travelling. Dictations can then be picked up and typed at either office which is a godsend.
Best part of my job: Sorting out problems for clients who never thought they could be resolved.
Worst part of my job: Paper. I hate filing.
How I relax outside of work: I'm currently enjoying being a grandfather for the first time!
My ultimate holiday destination: New Zealand. Greek Islands or the Caribbean. Basically messing around in the heat with anything that floats and has a sail!)
The place I call home: Dublin city centre.
My work: Principal Solicitor at James MacGuill, specialising in Public Law, mainly Crime and International Treaties
Favourite past-time: Sport. The selectors for the Irish national rugby team seemed to have overlooked me for the past 15 years. Their loss. I am not bitter or twisted. Really.
How BigHand makes my life easier? Because of my confidence in the product, I can have complete peace of mind when I travel. I know that, in the case of a work emergency, I can be as effective by the side of the road in Sri Lanka with BigHand on my mobile phone, as I can be with BigHand in the office. It just works!
Best part of my job: The variety. Every day is different.
Worst part of my job: Obtuse opponents. They know who they are.
The little things that make my life easier: I would be lost without some of the technology we have available to us these days. My 19 year old son wouldn’t be able to comprehend life without the internet, nor can I anymore. Also, living in Ireland, my life is made easier by robust outdoor gear which allows me to stay warm and dry when we do have the occasional downpour.
Ultimate holiday destination? I'm just back from Sri Lanka and loved it so much, I'm heading back there in the New Year. And of course, I very much enjoyed my recent trip to Chicago to see Ireland beat the All Blacks.
