BigHand Speech Recognition spearheads business improvement for Pickering & Butters

Legal businesses are rethinking the way they carry out and deliver work to become more efficient. In a crowded market, that should also be used to build competitiveness by freeing up time for more client-focused activity. Firms are achieving a competitive edge by changing behaviours inside the firm and removing waste from the process to become more profitable.

Although Pickering & Butters was established over a century ago, tradition hasn’t kept it from moving forward, says IT manager Rachael Shaw. She says that developing a full-service practice with new technologies is pushing the firm ahead.

One example has been the introduction of speech recognition software from BigHand in March 2014, using the improved audio codec. Already the firm is seeing positive effects – both on productivity and the bottom line.
