Strutt & Parker, an independent UK property partnership with a network of offices throughout England and Scotland today share details of their rollout of BigHand’s cloud-based Digital Dictation.
With a dedicated and forward-thinking team of 300+ Dictation users based across the country, each working remotely, it was evident that cloud-based technology, which could facilitate remote working and integrate seamlessly with their outsourced services, was needed.
Martin Hilton, IT Support Manager at Strutt & Parker was the driving force behind the project, "The main challenges we faced were ensuring mobility and agility for our users. We were using old traditional Dictation devices that came with high licensing costs and just couldn’t support the needs of our users", explains Hilton. With BigHand Professional, Strutt & Parker’s users can capture property details or survey information via their iPhone app and submit it into the system automatically.
BigHand Professional is BigHand’s Software as a Service (SaaS) technology. Perfectly positioned for the property market, it enables users to record and submit secure Digital Dictations via their desktop, smartphone or tablet. Flexible and scalable, the software is hosted on the cloud, and depending on the size and needs of an organisation, can either be on BigHand’s secure cloud or via the organisation’s own private cloud, hosted by BigHand.
"Having this software hosted on the cloud means we don’t have to have an enterprise server installed on site which would have been very costly to manage and maintain" says Hilton. Other benefits of SaaS software include increased flexibility, less set up and support costs/resources, faster turnaround times, and ease of use of the Digital Dictation software itself.
