Ian joined BigHand in late 2015.Since 2000 Ian has worked exclusively in the software sector, initially with Northgate Information Solutions PLC and latterly with the Capita Group PLC, as Managing Director of a number of software businesses with revenues in excess of £150 million. He has always focused on the provision of high quality customer service together with the development of market leading solutions.Ian has a degree in Accountancy, Finance and Economics from the University of Essex.
Sam joined BigHand as CFO in November 2014. Sam, a chartered accountant, has significant experience in the professional services sector, including advising law firms and property consultants.Prior to joining BigHand, he was working in corporate finance at PwC where he supported management teams, companies and private equity houses on acquisitions, disposals, re-financings and strategic option reviews. Other roles have included Corporate Development Director for PwC UK and interim Finance Director at Croner Consulting, part of Wolters Kluwer.At BigHand, Sam is responsible for managing the Global Finance team whilst also sitting on our Executive board. Sam brings a wealth of commercial and transaction knowledge to the management team, and has a degree in Economics from Bristol University.
Andy Fielder was appointed as CTO in January 2013. Andy has over 26 years of experience leading development teams and developing software on numerous technical platforms. Andy is an agile advocate, coaching and mentoring teams to adopt the mind sets and practices that enable them to continuously deliver market leading products.Prior to BigHand Andy, was Head of Software Development at NetNames, an international role managing teams in Copenhagen, Cambridge and London. Before this Andy managed the Web and iSeries teams at Edexcel a Pearson company.At BigHand Andy is responsible for strategy, software development, product management, services and infrastructure enabling the delivery of world class technology.Andy is a Certified Scrum Master and has a BTEC National Diploma in Business and Finance from Harlow College.
Ben joined BigHand in 2005 as a Regional Sales Manager. In 2011 he was appointed as Managing Director for the UK Legal sector.Having worked in the legal sector for almost two decades, Ben is committed to ensuring BigHand delivers the best possible solutions, products and service to our customers whilst continuing to grow the number of firms benefiting from BigHand technology. He has taken an active role in the development of the next generation of BigHand products having recently chaired the team responsible for developing BigHand 5.Prior to joining BigHand, Ben spent five years as a Sales Manager at Pericom selling IT solutions and services. In his current role, Ben is responsible for managing the entire UK Legal sector of the business, including sales, marketing and support services. In addition to this, he is also VP of Global Sales. Ben has a degree in Law from The University of Manchester.
Eric Wangler was appointed President of the US & Canadian business units for BigHand in 2013.Prior to joining BigHand, Eric worked for global technology company, Ricoh, as Vice President of their legal vertical. During his time at Ricoh, he was instrumental in evolving their service delivery model to include a full suite of litigation support services, from forensic data acquisition to final production of discovery documents.In his current role, Eric is responsible for the entire North American sector of the business and recently led the acquisition of Esquire Innovations, a leading provider of Microsoft Office integrated practice management software, extending the product offering to BigHand’s clients globally.Eric has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
Anthony joined BigHand as Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region in 2014.With over 20 years’ experience working in the legal and financial sectors, Anthony has gained a keen interest in information technology to provide efficiencies and growth opportunities within legal practices. His approach is to balance continual improvement with the ongoing and often changing needs of internal business and external partners.Prior to joining BigHand, Anthony was involved in implementing management systems in firm’s right across North America, United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. The roles have included CEO of a law firm and Former President and Director on the National and NSW state Board for Australasian Practice Management Association.Currently, he is responsible for managing the growth the development of the Asia Pacific region, managing direct sales in Australia and New Zealand whilst building a network of resellers in Asia.
Dan joined BigHand in 2001, and has progressed in various positions within the company including Managing Director of Asia-Pacific, Managing Director of North America and Managing Director of Cloud Services and EMEA. Most recently, he became Managing Director, Healthcare & Europe.Since joining BigHand, Dan has helped drive the enterprise software client base from a start-up of 20 sites to 2,000+ organisations worldwide.During his 2-year tenure in Asia Pacific, Dan saw revenue grow by 200%. Whilst at the helm of the North American business, he led the North American team to contribute +30% to the group in 12 months. In April 2013, Dan led the launch of the BigHand Cloud Services product line, where he grew SaaS users from zero to 15,000 subscriptions in 3 years. Dan now runs our UK Healthcare and EMEA teams.Dan has a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in American Literature, History, Politics from the University of Manchester and also holds two CIM qualifications
James joined BigHand in 2001 as a Regional Sales Manager and is now Managing Director of Commercial Product Management & UK Client Delivery.James’ role is to ensure that BigHand continues to adapt both its technology offering and its service delivery according to the changing environments in which BigHand’s clients operate. James’ enthusiasm for understanding the challenges that BigHand customers face allows BigHand to focus their development and service delivery resources on things that can make a material difference to their customers, both in the short and longer term.Prior to joining BigHand, James worked as a Business Development Manager for the Centre for Strategic Business Studies. Previously at BigHand James was the Managing Director of the UK Market Development Business Unit and prior to that was the UK Sales Director.James has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath.
