Graham started his career as a Graduate Trainee with Hewlett-Packard having graduated from Leicester University with a degree in Engineering. He progressed through various engineering, market development and sales roles before leaving HP to found ComputerLand (CL). CL became a leading provider of IT services to the UK corporate and public sector markets. As Chairman and Chief Executive, Graham floated CL on the AIM list of The London Stock Exchange in 1997 and sold the business to Capita Group plc in 2008. Graham left Capita at the end of 2008 to pursue opportunities within the Private Equity sector.
Jon spent his early career at a world leading software business owned by Bank of America. He joined the board of Thomas Cook Group as Group CIO and Managing Director e-business, and was part of the team that transformed the business. Since then Jon has worked in a variety of successful technology enabled high growth businesses, including 5 years at financial services business BGL Group where he drove the uptake of internet and voice technology that doubled customer numbers to over 2.3m, lowered costs and quadrupled profits. Jon has a degree in Physics from Cambridge and an MBA from London Business School.
Mark heads BigHand's Finance Department and is a chartered accountant who joined BigHand in 2006 as part of the Buyout team. Mark brings over 10 years of experience in Financial Director/Chief Financial Officer roles where he worked in a variety of SME businesses at various stages of development, predominantly in the IT sector. These businesses included those in the growth phase experiencing international expansion and mergers and acquisitions activity.
Steve takes responsibility for BigHand’s North American operations, splitting his time between the Chicago and Toronto offices. Steve also has overall responsibility for global sales and the international reseller network. He has been with BigHand since 1999 and is a key driving force in helping BigHand become the market leader it is today, with over 800 firms as clients. Steve has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the working practices and HR implications of digital dictation and return on investment.
Simon has overall responsibility for BigHand’s software development function. He is the original author of BigHand Digital Dictation and is responsible for managing the development division. Simon studied electronic engineering at Cambridge University and studied for his masters in computing at Imperial College. Simon has been developing commercial software for 18 years working for companies like John Lewis plc and Electrosonic Ltd.
With BigHand since 1997, Jonathan has been instrumental in establishing the company as the digital dictation market leader. Jonathan has been involved in all areas of the business, from sales through to development. Having gained a wealth of knowledge around not only digital dictation but also other organisation changing software, Jonathan’s role as Chief Information Officer ideally places him to oversee new solutions and relationships for existing and future BigHand clients and business partners.
Dan joined BigHand in 2001 to set-up a new marketing function when the company had 20 clients using its technology, and has helped drive the software client base to 1,000 organisations and 100,000 users worldwide. With previous experience in business development and marketing consultancy, Dan has overall responsibility for global marketing covering lead generation, corporate branding & communications, online, trade shows & events, pre-sales technical/product marketing, vertical sector & Tech PR, and partner marketing.
James has overall responsibility for BigHand’s Sales & Account Management function within the UK. James joined in 2001 and as a Regional Sales Manager helped build BigHand’s client base from 20 legal firms to an over 50% market share in the UK. James then took over responsibility for managing the team in 2006. Part of James’ role also includes helping to build a client base in new UK vertical sectors as well as managing third party relationships with other complimentary businesses.
