Morningstar Systems delivers digital dictation solution to legal service provider UJG
Heerlen, The Netherlands, February 26th, 2007 -- Morningstar Systems, specialist in the field of Context Management and Enterprise Content Management, has delivered the BigHand3 Digital Dictation software solution to UJG, one of the largest legal service providers in the Netherlands. Thanks to the switch from analogue to digital dictation, UJG has a better view on the workload and it is easier for secretaries to take over each other’s work. As a result, the organisation has improved operating efficiency and flexibility. Morningstar Systems was the only company that could offer a solution that can function in UJG’s Terminal Server environment without an expensive add on.
The analogue equipment that UJG used for recording dictations needed replacement. UJG decided to switch to digital dictation and selected BigHand software, which is already used by more than 450 law firms world-wide. Morningstar Systems is BigHand’s implementation partner in the Netherlands.
Olivier van der Meijden, ICT manager at UJG, commented:
“We chose BigHand because its look and feel is very similar to Microsoft Outlook. Our employees can intuitively work with the software. Moreover, we use a Terminal Server environment. Morningstar Systems was the only company that could offer a solution that is able to function in such an environment without an expensive add on.”
During the pilot it became clear that BigHand3 can be easily installed, so UJG decided to implement the software themselves, based on the ‘train the trainer’ concept. Now the software has been in use for some time, and according to Van der Meijden UJG is very satisfied:
“There is a huge difference with analogue dictation. The sound quality is much better, but we also have a better view on the secretaries’ workload. In the past, they did not receive a tape until it was fully recorded and it was difficult to estimate how much time it would take to transcribe it. Now the dictates are delivered more gradually, the length of the dictates is more obvious and it is easier for secretaries to take over each other’s work.”
René Beulen, director of Morningstar Systems, commented: “By recording, sending and processing dictations digitally, organisations can improve operating efficiency and flexibility. Built on a three-tier architecture with an XML front-end, BigHand3 Digital Dictation represents a new generation of digital dictation workflow software and, importantly, is built to respond to the way you work, whether you are a small, medium or large firm.”
